About us

Plan.Heritage is a husband-and-wife team with over 35 years of international heritage consultancy and contracting experience in the planning environment. We have worked for international consultancies, archaeological contractors, museums, local government and national heritage organisations. Because of this experience, we can provide high quality advice based on a sound understanding of the requirements of national organisations, corporate entities, developers, private individuals, or public heritage portfolio managers.

I have over 23 years experience as a heritage specialist. I have previously worked for Auckland Council as Team Leader Built Heritage, Arup as London Cultural Heritage Team Leader, English Heritage as the archaeological advisor for Westminster and West London, and the Museum of London. I have worked on archaeological sites in Israel, Hungary, the UK and New Zealand, and have degrees in archaeology and cultural heritage. I specialise in environmental impact assessments for heritage places, masterplanning for heritage-led regeneration, historic character assessments and conservation planning. I regularly undertake resource consent assessments for historic and character buildings and the design and delivery of heritage projects in the public and commercial environment. I am highly experienced in urban and buildings archaeology.


Adina Brown MA Msc

I am a heritage and planning consultant with 16 years’ experience in the sector. Previously I worked for Auckland Council’s heritage unit, as a principal specialist for built heritage. This followed 10 years in London, working in a number of national and regional planning and policy roles at English Heritage. I hold degrees in planning, archaeology and geology, and have a background in conservation management, from New Zealand and the UK. I specialise in heritage planning, archaeological assessments (including building recording) and built heritage evaluations, assessments and conservation plans.

Affiliations


​We are members of International Council On Monuments and Sites New Zealand, and the New Zealand Archaeological Association. John is an associate of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists and an affiliate member of the Institute for Historic Building Conservation (UK). Adina has previously been a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (UK).
